Create & Connect

I sometimes go through little seasons where I feel a bit of a disconnect to photography. I'm not sure if it's the pressure that can come along with it or just feeling like you get lost in shooting what's expected of you rather than the way you love. I've realized over the past week or so that as an artist or a photographer, we shouldn't have to feel like we're compromising our art we should photograph what we love and how we love to portray it.

I realized that it's ok to break the rules. It isn't always about a perfectly sharp image. Blurry images with beautiful light and feeling are just as good. Not getting wrapped up in technicality all the time is ok. And that's hard to comprehend but mood over technicality makes sense sometimes!

Last week inspiration hit me like a ton of bricks out of nowhere. I was so thankful for it and thankful that I had a model that I've been working with that I could call and get this shoot off the ground. I wanted to shoot on the land behind my house. I live out in the country and the piece of land behind my house is very rural with a couple of barns and random pieces of farm equipment.

Kristin was on board and we were able to get out in the field and produce some beautiful images. She is working on building her portfolio, so I knew she'd be perfect for this shoot. Plus she had the gorgeous gown she'd been wanting to use.

This shoot had a lot of me being overly excited (which is nothing out of the norm), doing the running man in the field, jumping, yelling fabulous and just being joyful and feeling connected to the art of photography again.

Kristin looks like a goddess in these images, the light was golden and wonderful and really the scenery was perfect.

Create and connect to the art of whatever it is you do find your love for your passion again. Do the running man, yell how excited you are about something.

Shoot for yourself, express yourself in the way you feel necessary. Be you.

Beautiful! I don't know if you would ever need anyone to photograph, but I'd love to help you out! Let me know if you do :)
