Self promos 1& 2

We have two self promo's due this week. For the first one I knew I wanted to do a beauty shoot with a model and have it emulate a Cover Girl ad. I worked with my good friend Meagan Goodwin again and she once again nailed it and I got a shot that I'm extremely happy with.

I was also fortunate enough to have Jessica Deal doing hair and make up for me on this shoot. She graduated from RCC this past year and is an extremely talented photographer, you can check out her work here, http://sjessica.com/blog/. This was shot with my 40d, a 24-105mm lens, two broncolor strobes, and a soft box.

My second self promo, I wanted to challenge myself...I am most comfortable photographing people so I wanted to do something different. My friend Blythe Leonard makes custom jewelry and I knew that I wanted to use one of her pieces. Most of her jewelry is made out of natural elements so I thought that putting it on some type of wood would give it a nice feeling. This was difficult for me but I feel like I was successful. Thank you Blythe for lending me this beautiful necklace!

Shot with my 40d, 17-40mm lens, one broncolor strobe, a fill card, and a soft box. Here is a shot of my lighting set up for the jewelry shoot.

Ooo la la.
These both turned out beautifully.
I like that you chose to be versatile with the different things you shot and the way you shot them.
It shows that you're able to work out of your comfort zone and still produce great results.
brava!
